Disturbing Recording Reveals Point Officers Get Knifed in Unexpected Assault

Both Sergeants Moments Prior to the Attacker Received Electric Shock

One ranking policeman that leaped to the assistance of a colleague that was assaulted by a knifeman was granted the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell grappled with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown after he placed a weapon to the throat of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the policemen and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in Whalley Range in mid-2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a stun gun.

"Policeman stabbed," PC Wolstencroft stated over his radio.

Bodyworn and dashcam video made public by the agency revealed Brown, wearing in black with a hood covering head, rush to Sergeant Foster from behind with a knife extended.

He collided with the policeman who tripped and went down to the street, before Sgt Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the pavement although being multiple times hit with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a safe opportunity, concluding the fight to an end.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get something on my throat here, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sgt Ansell sustained multiple open wounds to his throat and more cuts to his arms and body, while Sgt Foster suffered slash wounds.

Authorities stated Sgt Foster used his bare hands to control his fellow officer's hemorrhaging before emergency responders arrived.

The new award comes after the three officers won organizational Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the local Police Federation in spring 2024.

They further earned a Regional Courage Honor in July 2024.

"The responses of each policeman eventually protected themselves and ensured no members of the public suffered any injuries."

Brown was given to an psychiatric detention in early 2024, per authorities.
